Corned Beef and Cabbage
 

A wonderful main course for St. Patrick's Day!

4 pounds corned beef brisket
1 large onion, sliced
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3 whole cloves
1 medium to large cabbage, cut into wedges

Cover corned beef with water in large pot. Add onion, cloves, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer until fork tender, about 4 hours.

Remove meat and keep hot. Add cabbage to pot. Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes until cabbage is cooked. Slice meat and arrange on center of platter. Place cabbage onto platter around the sides of meat.

Serves 8 to 10.
